Introducing Our Wild Woodland Tent at Madeira in Fife 🌿✨

What began as a quiet patch of woodland by the stream has grown into something really special, and we’re finally ready to share it with you.

Over the past few years, we’ve slowly cleared the space while building the tree houses, and I always had this feeling that the land wanted to be used, not just seen, but experienced. The idea of wild dining started to take shape… and then, as things often do at Madeira, the next piece arrived by chance.

Over coffee with Nicky Wilson from Jupiter Artland, she mentioned she had a beautiful tent she was looking to sell. It was perfect, much more soulful than the boring, practical weather covers I’d been searching for. And because upcycling and reimagining are part of everything we do here, it felt like the right fit.

And just like that, the wild dining space was born; part woodland dining, part yoga tent, part celebration space. Like everything at Madeira, it’s flexible, guest-led, and a little bit magical.

🌿 So what is it?

A beautiful, open-sided tent tucked into the trees, with a fire pit that can cook for 20+ people, room for long tables or cushions on the floor, and space to make it your own, whether that’s a DIY dinner party, chef-led feast, wedding breakfast, sunrise yoga session, or a silent disco under

 the stars.

🍽️ What can it be used for?

• Exclusive group stays: Guests hiring all of Madeira can use the tent for meals, gatherings, or anything they imagine
• Wild dining weekends: Stay in a cottage or tree house, and we’ll host communal dinners under the trees, ticketed when needed
• Seafood boils: Yes, we’re trialling one now, and if all goes to plan, we’d love Madeira to become the home of the seafood boil in Fife (if not Scotland!)
• Chef collaborations: Think East Neuk produce by Kevin, wood-fired pizza with Wild Dining, fine dining from Roberto, or a special pop-up with Katie Tan (yes, the MasterChef one!)
• Seasonal experiences: From fire-lit autumn suppers to a Summer Solstice Goddess Dinner in June (we’re building a calendar).
• Weddings & parties: The tent is a blank canvas for props, lights, and styling. The woodland lighting plan is underway and it’s going to be magical
• Yoga, writing & corporate retreats:A peaceful place to stretch, think, or gather as a team, in total privacy

🛖 Why it matters

Everything we create at Madeira grows naturally; led by the land, by chance conversations, and by our guests. The wild dining tent isn’t just an event space, it’s an extension of what we already offer: a place to connect, create, and celebrate in nature.

We’re working on the website and booking system now, and once that’s ready, dates will open up to the public. But if you’re already staying with us, or thinking about hiring Madeira exclusively, know that it’s here, and it’s ready to be part of your stay.
