Gardeners Cottage
The Gardeners cottage sleeps 6-8 people and is surrounded by garden.
As the name suggests it was originally the cottage for the gardener who managed the kitchen garden of what was The Grangemuir Estate. It sits to the north side of the beautiful, red brick Victorian wall that forms the 2 acre walled garden of Madeira.
The cottage has 3 bedrooms which allow flexibility for families and groups. Each of the rooms can be twin or super king and one is ensuite with a family bathroom for the other two rooms to share. The sofa in the sitting room is a comfortable king-sized sofa bed. There are bed spaces for 7 individuals or 8 if beds are shared. In addition to the en-suite, there is a refurbished family bathroom with shower.
The kitchen area is large and very well equipped, and the living area has a large table and chairs, comfortable sofas and a new wood burning stove. If you have rented other accommodation at Madeira we can pop another table in so you can all eat together.
There is also a sunroom with seating to watch the sun go down or look at the wildlife in the garden and around the neighboring stream.
The secluded patio area at the back of the cottage with a table and chairs makes a perfect BBQ or pizza making area. There is also a wood fired hot tub for exclusive use of guests in the Gardeners Cottage which sits 6 comfortably. The garden has rope swings suitable for all ages, and there is a path leading from the cottage to our ‘fairy post’ box and further areas for kids to play. The lawn out front can be used for games.
There is a small stream at the bottom of the garden so small children need to be supervised when in this part of the garden.
